Separate Leadership from Spiritual Authority

A source-aware learning challenge with a practical assignment and a private reflection space.

What to understand

A teacher can be responsible for a classroom without possessing religious authority in every Wiccan tradition. A facilitator can organize a public seasonal gathering without holding a particular lineage degree. Leadership roles should have clear limits, duties, decision processes, and paths for raising concerns. Titles alone do not prove safety or competence. Responsible institutions distinguish educational assessment, community recognition, and initiatory authority so that students know precisely what each credential means.

Your practical assignment

Draw a role chart for a ten-member learning circle. Include facilitator, educational reviewer, accessibility contact, privacy steward, and treasurer. Write the scope and accountability mechanism for each position.

RESEARCH LEAD

Use this resource for context, and compare sources where possible. It is not an endorsement of all claims made in related traditions.
