Make a Transparent Community Budget

A source-aware learning challenge with a practical assignment and a private reflection space.

What to understand

Small Pagan groups sometimes depend on volunteer labor, donated space, and modest contributions. Even a group that spends almost nothing needs clarity about who receives money, what expenses are approved, and how receipts are recorded. A person's ability to donate should never be used as proof of devotion or commitment. Separate finances, a written process for reimbursement, and clear reporting reduce confusion. The aim is to create trust rather than imitate the complexity of a large organization.

Your practical assignment

Prepare a fictional three-month budget for a study circle that uses free meeting space and avoids compulsory fees. Include one example of a voluntary donation, how it would be recorded, and who can audit the accounts.

RESEARCH LEAD

Use this resource for context, and compare sources where possible. It is not an endorsement of all claims made in related traditions.
