A Mentoring Practicum and Evaluation
Design a complete teaching relationship that can be reviewed by others.
Core knowledge
A mentoring program requires a clear starting agreement, observable objectives, a reading plan, feedback, safety boundaries and a way to evaluate what the learner actually achieved. It also needs a process for correction when a teacher makes a mistake, or for ending the relationship without penalty.
Historical, ethical and practical context
The practicum should test how a future leader responds to a variety of learners and real uncertainties. It should reward careful explanations, appropriate referrals, consent, timely feedback and humility rather than a performance of authority.
Worked situation
Design a fictional case with two learners: one with strong historical knowledge who dislikes group ritual, and one enthusiastic beginner who repeats misleading social-media claims. The mentor must adapt the work without lowering historical standards or pressing either student into unwanted practices.
A responsible method
- Create an eight-week learning agreement and calendar.
- Write two differentiated assignment plans with equivalent assessment outcomes.
- Prepare a feedback rubric and a mentor review form.
- Include an exit policy, conflict-of-interest procedure and safeguarding contacts.
Consider the limitations
This lesson teaches transferable educational or community skills. It does not confer an initiatory degree, substitute for a qualified mentor, or grant legal, clinical or spiritual authority over another person. Apply the concepts within your own tradition's boundaries, with consent, factual attribution and care.
Put it into perspective
Submit a complete 8-week mentorship packet for human review as part of a Level III portfolio.
Evidence of learning: Keep the completed work in your private study portfolio. Explain the source of claims and identify any limitation or unanswered question before requesting feedback.
Research and compare these sources. They describe different perspectives and must not be mistaken for a single universal Wiccan rule.
